CHRS FAQs

Is my pay at risk?

No. Payroll continuity is a top priority during CHRS implementation.

Dedicated payroll teams monitor every cycle during transition. If an issue occurs, it will be corrected promptly.

Your pay, classification, and benefits eligibility are not changing due to CHRS.

Will my benefits change?

No. CHRS changes the system used to manage benefits — not the benefits themselves.

Your medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans remain the same.

Why does the system look different?

CHRS uses a standardized CSU-wide interface with tile-based navigation.

The layout is new. The processes are familiar.

Do I need to relearn my job?

No. Your role, job duties, and approval authority remain the same.

Training focuses on navigation and updated workflows — not new job expectations.

Will my job title, classification, or bargaining unit change?

No. System conversion does not change job codes, classifications, bargaining units, salary ranges, or employment status.

Why are employee IDs and position numbers changing?

CHRS assigns standardized system IDs to align CSU campuses under one structure.

This does not affect your campus EMPL ID, employment status, or classification.

Why are we pausing certain HR transactions in March?

The transaction pause allows safe data conversion and controlled go-live.

What happens during the system pause?

Some transactions may be temporarily unavailable.

Manual tracking may be used where necessary.

Critical payroll and compliance functions remain protected.

What if I enter something incorrectly?

CHRS includes validation tools and correction pathways.

Support teams are available to assist and escalate issues if needed.

Will historical data transfer to CHRS?

Yes. Required historical employment and payroll data will be converted.

Will reports and queries change?

Yes. Legacy queries are replaced by QuickSuite and standardized reporting tools.

Where can I get help?

Visit the CHRS Training Site or contact Human Resources at hrm@csudh.edu or 310-243-3771.

Why are we implementing CHRS?

To standardize HR processes across CSU campuses, improve reporting, reduce manual workarounds, and modernize HR technology.
