Workers' Compensation

Workers’ Compensation is a mandatory benefit, paid by the employer which may provide compensation and medical benefits to employees who become injured or ill as a direct result of their employment.

The benefits are designed to provide medical treatment to an employee and partially replace wages while an employee is recovering from their injury or illness.

Workers’ Compensation is highly regulated and time-sensitive; therefore, all injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents must be immediately reported to the employee’s manager and Human Resources Management. For the purposes of defining who is covered under the workers’ compensation program, the word employee used within this webpage includes faculty, staff, student assistants, and may include volunteers.
