Early Course Notification

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development will notify the departments to submit early ending stateside course information.

February-April

Early Course PTE Period Opens

PTE surveys for early ending stateside courses are available. Evaluations processed case-by-case. Students access the survey via MyCSUDH or their ToroMail.

February 13

Student Census

Official census date for the spring term.

February 23

15-Week Course Data Load

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development will request the Division of Information Technology to load 15-week stateside course data into the PTE system.

March 2

Optional PTE Questions Open

Faculty may submit up to two optional questions for inclusion in the PTE survey. Notification sent via email.

March 27

Optional PTE Questions Close

Deadline for faculty to add questions to the PTE survey by 11:59 p.m.

March 2-27

Course Review Access

Department Chairs and Unit Heads can review courses scheduled for evaluation using the Online PTE system.

April 13

Student Course Evaluation Opens

PTE period begins for 15-week ending courses. Students receive email invitations to complete evaluations and can also access them via MyCSUDH.edu. Faculty can monitor participation through the Online PTE portal.

Students receive email reminders for any courses not yet evaluated.

Last day for students to complete evaluations for 15-week ending courses (by 11:59 p.m.). This is also the last day of scheduled classes.

Faculty, Department Chairs, Unit Heads, and Academic Administrators can access PTE results for this term. Faculty may print results for their own courses.

Summer PTEs for Stateside Courses

PTEs may be administered for stateside summer session courses based on the request of the College Dean. Faculty members teaching stateside summer courses will be notified of the PTE schedule by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development.Ìý

Monitoring Student Participation

How Faculty Can Monitor Student Participation:

  • Faculty can monitor student participation and response rates throughout the evaluation period via the .

Important Notes:

  • Evaluations will be administered online, and students will receive email invitations with a link to the PTE portal sent to their CSUDH Toro email address.
  • Students have access to complete their course evaluations from any desktop computer or mobile devices and may access the PTE survey via MyCSUDH.edu.
  • Participation is completely anonymous, and all responses are confidential.  
  • Weekly reminder emails will be sent to students up to the last week of classes. Encourage students to check their SPAM folders if they don't see the initial email.
  • The PTE course evaluation reports will be released at the end of the semester after all grades have been submitted.
