Range Elevation

Lecturer Range Elevation is a process through which eligible lecturers may receive a permanent increase in their salary range based on demonstrated professional growth, merit, and contributions to the University.

At 好色先生, Dominguez Hills, range elevation is governed by campus policy and Article 12 of the California Faculty Association / CSU Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Eligibility

Lecturers may be eligible to apply for range elevation if they:

  • Meet the criteria outlined in Article 12 of the CBA
  • Have demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching and/or related professional activities
  • Have completed the required period of service within their current salary range
  • Meet any additional requirements outlined in campus procedures

Criteria for Evaluation

Applications for range elevation are reviewed based on evidence of:

  • Teaching effectiveness and instructional contributions
  • Professional development and continued growth
  • Service to the department, college, and/or University
  • Contributions to the discipline or field, where applicable

Application Process

Eligible lecturers must submit a range elevation application in accordance with campus guidelines. Applications typically include:

  • A current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A narrative statement addressing qualifications for elevation
  • Supporting documentation demonstrating achievements and contributions

Detailed submission instructions and deadlines are communicated annually by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development.

Review and Approval

Applications are reviewed at the department and college levels, with final approval granted in accordance with campus procedures and the CBA. Approved range elevations result in a permanent salary increase within the lecturer salary schedule.

Range elevation increases are subject to the terms of the current CBA, including any provisions related to salary adjustments.
