CREST Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to return the car charged?

If renting by the hour, no. However, if you are using the daily rate, the vehicle must be returned with an 80% charge or higher.

What happens if I don't bring the car back charged?

If the vehicle is returned below the required 80% charge level, the following fees may apply:

  • $75 fee: Below 80% but above 50% charge
  • $120 fee: Below 50% charge
Do I need to return the car with gas?

Yes. The gas level should be returned to the same level as when you received the vehicle.

What happens if I get in an accident?

Report the accident to the insurance company through the KINTO helpline. The appropriate contact number can be found within the KINTO app.

Do I need a key to turn on the vehicle?

No. Your phone acts as the key to unlock and start the vehicle.

What happens if I need the vehicle for a longer period than originally planned?

You can extend your reservation through the app. If you are far from campus, you may receive a notification offering you the option to extend your reservation.

Please note: If the vehicle has an upcoming reservation after yours, you will not be able to extend your reservation.

What happens if I don't return the car at the expected time?

You may be charged a late return fee. A 59-minute grace period applies. After that, additional late fees may apply.

You may be charged a $10 per hour late fee, with a maximum late fee of $240.

What happens if I return the interior of the vehicle dirty?

Please return the vehicle in good condition and remove all personal belongings and trash. Excessive damage or cleaning required in the interior may result in an additional charge for interior detail cleaning.

What if I don't see the vehicle I reserved in Lot 1?

Call the CREST phone number listed on the information sheets posted on the pillars in Lot 1 for assistance.
