The Professional Fundraising Program is conducted in a live online format using Zoom and the campus' . Live virtual class sessions are conducted at the day/time indicated in the program schedule. Attendance at all class sessions is required.
BPX 913 |Introduction to Fundraising

This course is designed to teach students the basic principles of fundraising for non-profit organizations. It explores some of the history of fundraising, fundraising in America, statistics of fundraising on a national, state, and local level, dynamics of a sound fundraising program and approach and what it takes to build a multi-channel, comprehensive fundraising program for both small and large organizations.
BPX 915 | Direct Response Fundraising and Individual Giving

This course is designed to teach students the fundamentals of direct response fundraising with a focus on individual giving. The course will focus on how to formulate a good direct response plan including new donor acquisition, donor retention strategies, principles of good donor stewardship along with building a donor loyalty program. The topics will include both traditional direct mail programs as well as digital strategies. Also there will be a focus on keeping good records and doing regular donor file analysis.

This course is designed to teach students the basic principles of fundraising as it relates to institutional funders. It will cover the basic dynamics of corporate and foundation funding including statistical data. It explores the fundamentals of grants and grant writing and developing proposals for institutional funding consideration. Other funding sources that will be studied include churches, civic groups, employee giving programs, corporate foundations and family foundations.
BPX 919 |Major Gifts, Planned Giving & Events
0.9 CEUs • Prerequisite: BPX 913; Recommended: BPX 915, BPX 917
This course is designed to teach students the basic principles of fundraising as it relates to major donors with additional instruction in planned-giving and bequests. The course will also focus on fundraising through events and the part they play in a comprehensive fundraising program. In addition, students will be expected to complete an annual multi-channel fundraising plan for their non-profit or for one they hope to work for.
