Visit the Office of Sustainability during business hours at its physical office in LIB 2514 and/or at the weekly Farmers Market info booth to ask questions or get plugged into services.听 In addition to these daily/weekly engagements, every year, the Office of Sustainability hosts several signature campaigns and events designed to engage our community and promote sustainability. University Sustainability Committee Meetings听
The CSUDH University Sustainability Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the President and is charged with cultivating interest, promoting, and supporting efforts to educate the campus community and institutionalizing sustainability at CSUDH. Equally important, it ensures the university鈥檚 ongoing prominence as a sustainability leader in higher education locally, regionally, and nationally. While voting members are elected by their respective divisions and units per the charter鈥檚 guidelines, anyone from the CSUDH community is eligible to participate in the University Sustainability Committee and the various workgroups and sub-committees operating under its umbrella as a non-voting, general member.听 The University Sustainability Committee meets monthly during the semester and hosts a public townhall meeting once a year.

The University Sustainability Committee has several sub-committees, including the Sustainable Landscape Committee and Alternative Transportation Committee. Are you looking to boost your resume while making a meaningful difference on campus? The Office of Sustainability offers an Internship & Volunteer program with 2 different tiers (Academic Internship & Volunteer Internship) where you can actively contribute to essential sustainability initiatives. As a volunteer/intern, you'll be instrumental in advancing our campus sustainability goals. You can choose a commitment level that fits your schedule, from 2 to 20 hours per week depending on the tier you choose.
Academic Internship:
This program offers 120 hour minimum of valuable hands-on experience, skill development, and the chance to earn academic credit and/or transcript credit by registering through your academic department. If you need assistance in how to do so, please email sustainability@csudh.edu.听 Additionally, you鈥檒l have access to letters of recommendations and proof of attendance from the Office of Sustainability to further enhance your credentials. To get started, please submit the and a staff member from the Office of Sustainability will contact you to schedule an interview.听
Volunteer Internship:
This internship is a volunteer opportunity designed to help you build your resume and earn a certificate of recognition for your service with us. The commitment is flexible, with a minimum of just 2 hours per week. As a volunteer, you鈥檒l receive training in campus sustainability and contribute to a variety of projects aligned with your interests and our current initiatives. To get started, simply complete the .
