College of Education Scholarships

The College of Education is committed to preparing the next generation of educators, counselors, and school leaders who will shape brighter futures. Our scholarships offer meaningful support to help you advance your academic journey and make a lasting impact in your community.

The 2026-2027 College of Education Scholarship application period is closed.

How to Apply

The COE Scholarship application can be completed online through your .

Before you apply:

  1. Review the application and prepare your responses to the application questions.
    • You must complete a series of four questions with two additional questions for MA students who wish to be considered for two of the MA scholarships. You may want to complete in MS Word or another word processing program to write and edit. Then you may cut and paste into the application. Specific details are provided in the application online.
  2. Prepare your Resume.
    • You will be asked to provide a resume with your application.

Complete the Application:

  1. Log onto your CSUDH Student Center and choose the scholarship button.
  2. Choose the apply to CSUDH Scholarships and log in using your regular log on information.
  3. Choose the College of Education Scholarships
  4. Start Application. You will be asked a series of questions which allows the scholarship committee to determine the scholarships for which you are eligible. Continue to complete using the next button. Once the application is completed with all of the items mentioned above, you will be asked to submit.

After you Apply:
If you are selected for one of the scholarships, the Financial Aid will package the scholarship with the rest of your aid.

Grants and Loan Forgiveness Programs

The Golden State Teacher Grant Program

GSTG provides up to $20,000 for students who are enrolled in a preliminary teaching credential program or a pupil personnel services credential. Students must have unmet financial eligibility and agree to teach in a high needs school for four years. More information about the grant and the list of high needs schools may be found at the California Student Aid Commission website:


Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program

Under the , if you teach full time for five complete and consecutive academic years in a low-income school or educational service agency, and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible for forgiveness of up to $17,500.


Federal Perkins Loan

You may be eligible to have all or a portion of your 聽canceled (based on your employment or volunteer service) or discharged (under certain conditions).


Public Service Loan Forgiveness

If you鈥檙e employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, you might be eligible for the . The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans

Asian BILA Scholarship Information

As part of the CSU Asian Language Bilingual Teacher Education Program Consortium (for more details about the Consortium, please visit this ), CSUDH credential students pursuing bilingual authorization in Asian languages (Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, etc.) are eligible for significant scholarship opportunities.

  • If you are pursuing a credential along with a bilingual authorization, you could receive a $20,000 scholarship.
  • If you are pursuing the bilingual authorization (BILA) only, there is a $2,200 scholarship available.
