NBQA 701 41 CQM/OE Refresher Course
This course is designed as a refresher course to prepare applicants for ASQ’s CMQ/OE exam.
An e-badge will be awarded for the successful completion of this class. MSQA students who have completed QAS 511, QAS 518, and either QAS 526 or QAS 527, can earn a second e-badge Certificate of Completion in Quality Management which can be added to their personal professional development portfolio.
This course is a review of the American Society for Quality’s (ASQ) Body of Knowledge for the Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence examination. The body of knowledge is reviewed and simulated examination practice tests are included to familiarize certification candidates with the ASQ examination test structures. The exam is scheduled by ASQ four times a year. This course is also a capstone course in the Quality Assurance Certificate and Master of Science, Quality Assurance degree programs.
This culminates in a certificate of achievement in the field of Quality Management.
The course will serve as a review of the ten major elements of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer examination. Sample questions for applications and principles will be of a similar format as they appear on the ASQ examination.

To provide the student with fundamental and some advanced theories of reliability engineering. This Internet course is designed to assist the student in passing the ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) examination.
The course provides an introduction and an overview of the seven major elements of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) examination. Students will gain an understanding of the responsibilities required for a calibration technician. Please contact the Quality Office at 310-243-3352 for schedules. These courses can be refresher courses can be customized to suit individual or company schedules.
CSUDH also offers Certificate Awards for students who complete three graduate level courses from the MSQA program and the appropriate capstone course. The student may take these courses through "open university" thus need not be enrolled in the MSQA program. Each student who satisfactorily completes a non-credit capstone course and the associated three graduate level credit courses from the MSQA program will be provided with a Certificate Award.
For professionals seeking to become ASQ certified who feel they need additional learning in certification body of knowledge, additional ASQ certification exam preparation can be obtained by enrolling as an Open University, nondegree-seeking student in one of the following MSQA classes.
An overview of reliability engineering. Use of mathematical models of prediction, confidence assessment, and systems reliability as aligned with the ASQ CRE body of knowledge. Emphasis on practical applications for product or system design. This course provides preparation for the CRE examination.
A study of the theory and application of reliability concepts in alignment with the ASQ CSQE body of knowledge as they relate to software design and implementation. This course provides preparation for the CSQE examination.
The study of Quality Metrics and their application throughout the life cycle of a product or service in a business entity as related to the CMQ/OE body of knowledge. The study includes Quality Standards, Customer Satisfaction, Quality Tools, Continuous Improvement, Cost of Quality, Supplier and System Auditing. This course provides preparation for the CMQ/OE examination.
In depth study of the application of the six sigma process; covers content of the methodology areas of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) including team concepts, project management, advanced statistical process control and techniques, and measurement systems analysis in alignment with the ASQ SSBB body of knowledge. This course provides preparation for the CSSBB examination.
This 3-unit fully accredited master’s degree course examines the elements of the ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) body of knowledge (BOK) with emphasis in preparation for the ASQ certification exam structure and process. This course provides preparation for the CQE examination.
