The American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations offers 12-week, paid field trainings with affiliate unions, where you will learn union-building skills and gain experience on a union organizing campaign firsthand. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices are recommended to be hired by local and national unions of the AFL-CIO. Annual starting salaries, depending on the union, start at $55,000 and come with excellent benefits. For those ready to embark on an organizing career. Applicants must be willing to relocate to where the work is and/or travel extensively. Applicants must have a valid driver鈥檚 license.

Part-time paid internship program in partnership with the California Faculty Association (CFA), CSU鈥檚 union of faculty, librarians, coaches, and counselors. Great opportunity to get training and lead campus campaigns to defend and improve public higher education in the CSU. You will connect with a network of student organizers across the state fighting for students鈥 rights and better conditions on campus. Our CSUDH CFA campus chapter sponsors two interns every year.

Learn how to organize your workplace and your community through hands-on, real-world experience. This summer internship gives participants direct exposure to union organizing, strike lines, and grassroots campaigns while building the skills needed to become an organizer. Interns will work alongside experienced organizers and take part in outreach, communication, and field activities that build worker power.
WILL Empower Apprenticeship Program is designed to identify, nurture, and train a new generation of women鈥檚 and non-binary people鈥檚 labor leadership. The WILL Empower apprentices may work in a variety of capacities for 3-12 months, including organizing, research, communications, politics, mobilization, and policy. Apprentices benefit from a formal mentorship program, with mentors both within and outside of the host organization, and participate in a WILL Empower training and gathering at the beginning of their apprenticeship.

EWOC is a volunteer-run network of hundreds of workers, organizers, and supporters who together are building a stronger, worker-led labor movement. We support and train any non-union worker in any industry who wants power and agency at work. In collaboration with the Inside Organizer School, UFCW 770 is recruiting organizing interns to join a program designed to offer training and work experience to anyone interested in becoming part of the labor movement and organizing their workplace. The internship begins with a classroom component that goes over history, theory, and tactics. New organizers are then placed in the field on active organizing campaigns where they can develop their skills and get a real understanding of organizing work.
