Description	The Chemistry Angel Scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to dedicated and passionate students who meet a minimum GPA requirement. The scholarship should allow the student to reduce work hours in order to better focus on their studies.

Description	The Dr. Lois Chi Emeritus Faculty Association Science Scholarship is awarded to currently enrolled CSUDH undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in biology, chemistry, or a closely-related field in the biomedical sciences. Preference is given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in a natural science.

Requirements	Minimum 3.0 GPA Demonstrated financial need Must be pursuing a degree in biology, chemistry, or a closely-related field in the biomedical sciences Preference is given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in a natural science. Applicants must submit two (2) letters of recommendation (at least one must be from a former professor addressing the applicant鈥檚 qualifications for the scholarship) Applicants must submit a thoughtful essay detailing their future career/college goals: Describe why a college education is important to you, as well as the personal commitment you've made to get this far in your educational journey. Explain how completing your CSUDH degree will help you transform your life and the lives of others. Description	Dr. Loether, emeritus and founding faculty member of the sociology department at CSUDH, was greatly respected by his colleagues and his many students. Dr. Herman J. Loether established the Social Systems Research Council (SSRC) in addition to teaching Sociology at CSUDH for 30 years (after teaching for 10 years at CSU-Los Angeles). Dr. Loether also founded the Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) Chapter at CSUDH and served as the advisor for many years. Dr. Herman J. Loether was actively involved in the development of the SSRC (now called the Urban Community Research Center), and took great pride in teaching CSUDH students about doing hands on sociological research with community partners. The Loether Memorial Social Research Scholarship was established in his honor to support Sociology students engaged in scholarly research activities.听Herman J. Loether died of cancer on March 25, 2011.

Description	The Marcie Stewart Memorial Scholarship is awarded to currently enrolled undergraduate students majoring one of the STEM disciplines. This scholarship was created in memory of Marcie Stewart, a CSUDH alumna who majored in mathematics and taught for the department. Students are selected based on academic performance and promise.

Description	The William Armacost Memorial Scholarship is awarded to currently enrolled undergraduate Mathematics majors (any option). Professor William Armacost was an outstanding teacher in the CSUDH Department of Mathematics for more than thirty years.
