Connecting with CAPE can feel unfamiliar, especially when the reason for reaching out is personal or difficult to describe.
CAPE counselors provide confidential, nonjudgmental support. There is no need to prepare a statement, decide what an experience should be called, or know what kind of help is needed before an appointment.
Starting the Conversation
A CAPE counselor will introduce themselves, explain CAPE鈥檚 role, and review confidentiality and its limits.
The conversation may begin with a simple question about what brought someone in or what kind of support would be helpful.
There is no expectation to share names, provide every detail, or discuss anything that does not feel relevant to the conversation.
