  • Daisy Faculty Award Program The School of Nursing at CSU Dominguez Hills has established The Daisy Faculty Award program. The purpose of this program is to provide national recognition and to demonstrate appreciation to nursing faculty for their commitment and inspirational influence on their students. This program is open to faculty members, employed at the School of Nursing in a lecturer, FERPer, part-time, tenured, or tenure-track position.

  • Judith Lewis Outstanding Educator Award Each year the School of Nursing honors one full or part-time faculty member for their exceptional contributions to teaching nursing at CSUDH.
    • Application Instructions: SON students or faculty wishing to nominate an instructor will submit a short paragraph (300 words) via by Deadline TBD. The write-up must provide examples of how the nominee meets the criteria for this award. Self-nomination is acceptable.Ìý

Scholarships

  • Dr. Jan M.H. Brewer Emerging Leaders Scholarship Award awards $1000 and a certificate of recognition to an undergraduate BSN student at CSUDH who demonstrates academic excellence and leadership potential. Eligible students must be matriculated in the School of Nursing, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and have completed at least one semester in the program. Applicants must submit a 350–400-word essay outlining their qualifications. Recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter to the scholarship committee.ÌýThis scholarship supports students’ educational journeys while recognizing emerging leaders in nursing.   • Joyce Lee Harper Memorial Scholarship offers a $1000 award to a CSUDH undergraduate or graduate nursing student who demonstrates compassion, empathy, and excellence in patient-centered care. Priority is given to students with experience in oncology, HIV/AIDS, palliative, or hospice/end-of-life care. Applicants must be enrolled full-time with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submit a 300–400-word essay describing their dedication to compassionate nursing practice. Recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter to the scholarship committee. Deadline TBD.Ìý

  • The Dr. Cynthia G. Johnson Scholarship offers a $1000 award and recognizes CSUDH nursing students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to community service, particularly in advancing the role of Black/African Americans in nursing. Eligible applicants must be graduating undergraduate or graduate nursing students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. A 400–500-word essay and supporting documentation of community service are required. Recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter to the scholarship committee.ÌýThis award honors students who exemplify excellence, service, and dedication to the nursing profession.   • Ledesma Community Service Endowment Scholarship awardsÌý$500 to a CSUDH undergraduate or graduate nursing student who demonstrates a strong commitment to community service and dedication to the nursing profession. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a nursing program and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. A 300–400-word essay is required, describing how the scholarship will support their educational and professional goals and how their community service has positively impacted others. Recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter to the scholarship committee.ÌýThis scholarship honors students who exemplify compassion, civic engagement, and excellence in nursing and community service. Deadline is TBD.

  • The LA Coalition Books & Tools Fund ScholarshipÌýawards $500 to nursing students in their second or later semester who demonstrate academic promise, financial need, and a commitment to community service. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in their undergraduate or graduate program, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 (3.0 for graduate students), and submit receipts for books and tools purchased. Recipients are also asked to send a thank-you letter to the scholarship committee. This scholarship supports educational expenses and recognizes dedication to nursing and community service. Deadline is TBD.

  • The Mechel Ann Stanley ScholarshipÌýawards $1,000 to nursing students in recognition of academic achievement, dedication to the nursing profession, and commitment to service. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in the undergraduate or graduate nursing program and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter to the scholarship committee. This scholarship celebrates excellence and diversity in nursing, with female and underrepresented students especially encouraged to apply, supporting both educational goals and professional growth. Deadline is TBD.

      • ÌýÌý$1,500 will be awarded to one undergraduate nursing student and to one graduate nursing student who is studying in the US or Canada.
      • Awards & Scholarships LogoÌýKaiser Permanente seeks to enhance and support nurses who are in the nursing profession with financial assistance to complete their nursing education.Ìý The awards range from $1,000 to $3,000.
      • A scholarship opportunity for students of African descent pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BBA/BSB/BSBA) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
      • Council of Black Nurses ScholarshipÌýÌýCouncil of Black Nurses is offering scholarship awards ranging from $1000-1500 for those who are enrolled in an BSN or MSN program, have completed at least one semester of the program, currently involved in service to the African American Community, and can demonstrate a financial need.Ìý
      • With over 100 years of service history, NCJW|LA is an organization committed to addressing issues of economic justice in Los Angeles.Ìý NCJW|LA’s scholarship program awards financial assistance to students who live and attend school in the greater Los Angeles area (including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties) who have made a commitment to higher education to achieve a better future for themselves and their families.Ìý Our scholarships are open to students of all backgrounds in a variety of subject matter disciplines, as well as scholarships that support non-traditional students in achieving their academic goals.Ìý
      • A one-time $5,000 Scholarship will be awarded to one (1) student in California and one (1) student in Nevada per academic school year. ÌýAll full-time nursing students enrolled in a state-approved associate or baccalaureate degree nursing program in the states of California and Nevada are eligible.Ìý
