McNair Scholars Program

The McNair Scholars Program at 好色先生, Dominguez Hills is a federally funded program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. We support first-generation college students who meet federal TRIO income criteria as they explore research and prepare for graduate and doctoral study.

Our goal is to help first-generation college students build on their strengths, work closely with faculty mentors, and take clear steps toward starting a graduate program in the fall immediately after they complete their bachelor鈥檚 degree.

Prospective Scholars


McNair may be a good fit if you:
- Are a First Generation College Student (first in your family to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree)
- Meet federal TRIO low-income criteria (i.e, Pell Grant eligible or see )
- Are a CSUDH undergraduate in any major, curious about research and graduate school
- Want individual support in planning your next steps聽

Current Scholars


Use this site to:
- Understand program expectations and time commitments
- Track workshops, seminars, and summer research
- Stay on top of graduate school milestones and deadlines

Faculty mentors' role:
- Guide students through independent research or scholarly projects
- Support scholars in writing, presenting, and exploring graduate study
- Offer advice and support on academic pathways in your field

What McNair Offers

As a McNair Scholar, you can expect:
- A structured summer faculty-mentored research or scholarly project
- Workshops and seminars on research, writing, and graduate school
- Writing and academic support, as needed
- Help with graduate school lists, statements, CVs, and applications
- Information about funding and fellowships

These experiences are designed to prepare you to begin a graduate program in the fall immediately after you complete your bachelor鈥檚 degree.
