CSUDH’s EMT recertification course collection includes both components:
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Refresher Course (HSX 907) and Skills Competency Verification sessions (NHGH 907) are designed to refresh and update the EMT’s knowledge and skills as well as satisfy EMT recertification requirements.
Participants may enroll in both the Continuing Education Certificate (HSX 907) and the Skills Competency Verification (NHGH 907) or may take them individually, depending on their recertification needs.

The 24-hour EMT Continuing Education Certificate meets state training program requirements and national registry, including didactic hours, naloxone, Epinephrine use, glucose testing, and bleeding control with hemostatic agents. Training days do not exceed 12 hours per Los Angeles County EMS requirements.
A certificate of completion is awarded to successful participants of HSX 907.
Note: Continuing Education Certificates hour requirements exceed 24 hours for Los Angeles County EMTs whose certification has lapsed for more than 6 months; please visit for more information.
This course is designed to meet the Skills Competency Verification requirement for California EMT recertification and is conducted in alignment with the Los Angeles County EMS Agency's approved skill sheets. Participants will engage in demonstrations, guided discussion, and hands-on practice to review and verify core EMT skills.
A completed EMSA SCV Form is awarded to successful participants of NHGH 907: EMT Skills Competency Verification.
Note: Skills Competency Verification (EMSA SCV Form) must be completed by an approved provider within the current certification cycle or within one (1) year for a lapse; please visit for more information.

Student attendance is required for the entire period of each class meeting in order to receive a grade of PR (Pass). Late arrivals and early departures from either HSX 907 or NHGH 907 will be counted as an absence.

The deadline to enroll for courses for most certificate programs is FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS or earlier before the class begins (or as indicated on the schedule); course schedules are updated daily.
If a course in which you are interested is no longer displaying in the course schedule, please be aware that its registration deadline may have already passed, or the course may have already reached capacity. Review the schedule for alternate dates, or sign up for Program Updates to be notified of upcoming classes.
If the course you want to register for has a prerequisite, after selecting "Checkout & Pay", you must Log In using your CSUDH campus credentials so that the system can verify that you have completed the required prerequisite course.
