African Sacred Music Concert is an annual event that brings together instrumentalists, scholars, and singers to explore the historical roots of African sacred music and African diasporic lived experiences, as well as how the past has defined the diverse genres of sacred music, including gospel, chants, and hymns. This festival is designed to create a performance space for the Department of Music鈥檚 choir and African American and African immigrant community choir groups to collaborate in performing African sacred music that celebrates lived experiences and Black excellence.
