The mission of the CADSMM is to study and document the lives and works of African Diaspora musicians with a specific focus on sacred music within Southern California. This mission encompasses the origin, growth, and new dimensions of performances, as well as the collection and preservation of the extant musical repertoire in Southern California, which the African Diaspora Sacred Music and Musicians collection holds.
