The Minor in Political Science provides students with a broad understanding of politics, government, public policy, international affairs, and political thought. Minor Requirements

The Minor in Political Science consists of 15 units of upper-division Political Science coursework.

Upper-Division Requirements (15 Units)

Choose one course from three of the following four areas (9 units):

American Government, Law and Politics

Examples include:

• State and Local Government
• Public Opinion

International Relations

Examples include:

• International Security
• American Foreign Policy
• International Institutions
• International Political Economy

Comparative Politics

Examples include:

• Government and Politics of East Asia
• Government and Politics of the Middle East
• Democratization
• Comparative Political Parties

Political Theory

Examples include:

• Modern Political Thought
• Democratic Theory
• American Political Thought
• Politics and Political Theory through Film

Then complete two additional upper-division Political Science courses (6 units).

No course may be repeated for credit toward the minor.
