BIO
Professor Borchert is full-time faculty in occupational therapy at ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú, Dominguez Hills. Amber is also the current Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the MSOT program. Amber has been a practicing OT for over 11 years in pediatric settings including school-based, private non-profit ASI specialty clinics and social skills programs; specializing in sensory integration, yoga and feeding and swallowing. Amber has her advanced training and certification in feeding and swallowing assessment and intervention. Amber also has her 200-hour yoga teacher certification, Yoga for the Special Child certification, as well as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy certification. She was written and published the book "A Therapist's Guide to Yoga in Pediatrics: A Sensory Based Approach" as well as designed yoga cards and a mat for clinical use in intervention. Prior to CSUDH, Amber worked in a leadership capacity as the Regional Director of Programs and Services, overseeing all programmatic and clinical operations in an outpatient pediatric clinic, including oversight of occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology, early intervention, social skills, and Early Start Denver Model.
