OTD APPLICATION EARLY REVIEW: September 1-October 15 (now closed)
The OTD Program accepts "Early Review" applications from September 1st to October 15th. Submitting an OTD Program Application for early review? Follow Steps 1-4.
Step 1: Attend an Information Session
View our Information Sessions schedule. Attendance to an OTD Information Session is required prior to submitting the OTD Application for early review
Proof of 80 Hours Volunteer/Observation Experienceunder a licensed occupational therapist (use the Volunteer Hours Verification Form) OR Foundations of OT Workshop Certificate
Unofficial GRE Scores may be waived. However, students with good GRE scores who would like to boost lower GPA scores, for example, may submit unofficial GRE scores during the Early Review and official GRE scores during the application period.Â
Unofficial Transcripts reflecting the undergraduate GPA and grades of all prerequisite courses (Note: Courses may no longer be in progress effective the end of the February 2026 application period for the Summer 2026 cohort. All courses must be complete by the application deadline if applying to Summer 2027 cohort and beyond.)
OTD Information Session Certificate
3 Letters of Recommendation:
You will need to provide the email addresses of 3 writers of Letters of Recommendation. The Qualtrics application will automatically send the request to each writer who will directly send the Letter of Recommendation to otdadmissions@csudh.edu.
2 letters of recommendation from professionals who can attest to the applicant's ability for graduate coursework and level of professionalism and 1 letter of recommendation from the licensed occupational therapist who performed supervision during the 80-hour volunteer/observation experience.
Note: If applicant completed (or is in process of completing) the Foundations of OT Workshop in lieu of volunteer/observation hours – the 3rd letter of recommendation does not have to be from an OT -- it can be from a 3rd professional.
Step 3: Wait for an interview schedule (sometime between October 15 to December 1).
Step 4: Wait for Decision Letter
Note: Applicants who are selected during the Early Review must officially apply to the University via Cal State Apply between February 1 and February 28 to secure their place in the cohort: Application Process. Official acceptance into the program is contingent on completing the Cal State Apply application in full and passing Title V Requirements.
Applicants not selected during the OTD Early Review will receive a letter indicating that they are welcome to schedule an advisement meeting with the OTD Program Coordinator and are still welcome to apply during the official application period in February.
