First Year

First-Year Summer:聽Working with their faculty mentor, MMUF Fellows begin their work in the summer following their acceptance into the program. Fellows attend a summer program with the other fellows in the CSU consortium, which introduces Fellows to their peers and begins building cohort rapport and developing their research project.

First-Year Fall:聽Fellows complete a 3-unit MMUF Research Methods course and begin regular meetings with their cohort and the MMUF faculty coordinator. Fellows present their research at the MMUF Western Regional Conference.

First-Year Spring:聽Working independently under the guidance of their mentor, Fellows continue developing their research project. Fellows are expected to apply to Undergraduate Summer Research Programs and present their research at the CSUDH Student Research Conference. The year culminates with an end-of-year celebration.

Second Year

Second-Year Summer:聽Fellows complete their Summer Research Program and submit the research that they completed and a reflection on that experience.

Second-Year Fall:聽Fellows continue working on their projects and also attend workshops that help them prepare graduate school applications. Many will apply to graduate schools at the end of this semester. Fellows present their work at the MMUF Western Regional Conference.

Second-Year Spring:聽Fellows present their research at CSUDH Student Research Conference and consider options for publication. The year culminates with an end-of-year celebration.
