Sumino Otsuji grew up in the Southbay, and she attended 186th聽Street School, Madrona Middle School, Torrance High School, El Camino College, and CSU Dominguez Hills. She has a BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Sociology, MA in English with a concentration in TESL, and a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy.聽 She loves traveling on cruise ships with her friends and family, and her favorite place in the world is Malta.聽 She adopted a cat in 2020 during the pandemic, and she found out why people become obsessed with cats.聽 She is now a bonafide cat lady, and she loves taking her cat on a leash around the neighborhood.聽
