Sara Cristin is a composition instructor at CSUDH with extensive experience teaching academic reading and writing at both two- and four-year institutions, including Cerritos College, Long Beach City College, and Pasadena City College. Her teaching centers equity-focused pedagogy and anti-racist curriculum design, with particular attention to how media studies, digital rhetoric, and multimodal literacy can amplify student voices. She has worked closely with colleagues in psychology, education, Chicano studies, art, and speech to design interdisciplinary and inclusive learning experiences for First Year Interest Groups, Guided Pathways, and dual enrollment programs. Sara also brings expertise in online and hybrid course design, emphasizing accessibility, scaffolding, and multimodal engagement. In all her courses, Sara is committed to creating supportive learning spaces where students gain confidence as readers and writers and learn to view their work as a means of inquiry, transformation, and connection.
