Jamie A. Thomas received her Ph.D. in Second Language Studies (Applied Linguistics) from Michigan State University. Her forthcoming book,聽Zombies Speak Swahili,聽explores language learning, identity formation, and popular media representation through zombie metaphors across Mexico, Tanzania, and the U.S. She additionally examines linguistics pedagogy and higher education, including student success and faculty professional development in community college settings. Her 2019 book,聽Embodied Difference: Divergent Bodies in Public Discourse,聽is a multidisciplinary volume on disability, refusal, and afterlife. 聽
