Christine Walker. A little bit about me, hmm. Is anyone ever comfortable writing one of these blurbs? Here goes. My husband, Brent, and I got married back in the dark ages before the internet. We currently have four cats. I was born and raised in the LBC. My father was a high school history teacher and head football coach for over 50 years. My mother is a professional violinist. What does that make me? Weird. I was the rebel child that obeyed the rules, well, most of them. I became a hairdresser right out of high school and had a very successful career in the professional beauty industry including managing the business of education for the West division, which was made up of 13 states. Before I worked for corporate America, I tried college. I took one course then started the next semester with two classes and quit mid semester. I was not ready mentally or with the competencies to being a dedicated student. Sometimes the answer is not now, but that does not mean not ever. When I returned to school, I was much more prepared and dedicated. Now, I am an English Lecturer with my BA and MA in English Literature from CSUDH. I am proud to teach at the same campus that I transferred into as a student. I do my best to bring in my corporate experience into the classroom with real life examples and applications. I also try to bring in a bit of fun and fresh air.
