Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Program

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable medical device that is designed to analyze heart rhythm and if necessary, deliver an electrical shock to restore the heart to a normal rhythm after sudden cardiac arrest. CSUDH maintains accessible automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in many campus buildings.聽

These units are designed for anyone to use without any specific training. However, the university has provided training to key personnel in all areas where AED are housed.聽

During all medical emergencies, call 911 for the University Police Department to assist you. AEDs are carried in police vehicles.
