PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS
Cheyenne joined the department as a Lecturer in 2011. Having found a passion for students and faculty, he current holds two positions, part-time Lecturer and Instructional Assistant/Lab Technician. His research observes changes in impermeable surfaces within the Los Angeles River Watershed and the resulting impact on river discharge. As an Urban Geologist, he has a general background in geology, hydrology, geochemistry, and an understanding of natural hazards experienced in metropolitan areas. He has maintained connections with groups across Los Angeles, including Tree People, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve, Madrona Marsh Preserve, and Friends of the Los Angeles River (FOLAR). Additionally, he is a member of the environmental sustainability team at CSU Dominguez Hills and serves on the committee responsible for the annual Earth Day Festival on campus. He strives to encourage student engagement and continued education in environmental sustainability.
