Clayton Frech
Founder, Angel City Sports

Over the last thirty five years Mr. Frech has held leadership roles in business, government, and non-profit sectors. Mr. Frech is an innovative and strategic thinker with experience in consulting, technology, automotive, event, health, career services, and nonprofit management. He has led organizations of all sizes, ranging from start-ups to $150M operations and is known as a disability advocate, documentary filmmaker, and social entrepreneur.

Mr. Frech has become a nationally recognized subject matter expert on the adaptive and Paralympic sports movement. After his son Ezra was born a congenital amputee in 2005, Frech identified major gaps in access to sports for people with physical disabilities in the United States. Thus, In 2013, Mr. Frech and his family and friends started a non-profit organization, Angel City Sports, to provide free, year-round access to adaptive sports training, competition, and equipment for kids and adults with physical disabilities. Now serving 1,000 athletes and providing 4,000 athlete experiences per year across 30 sports, the organization is leading the movement ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. Frech serves on the board of Move United, a national chapter-based organization (created when he merged two leading, national non-profit organizations). He is a frequent keynote speaker, panelist, and media personality promoting the adaptive and Paralympic movement.

Frech has been instrumental in shaping and managing the trajectory of his son鈥檚 career as one of the biggest stars of the Paralympic movement globally. Ezra made the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Team in 2019 as a fourteen year old and two years later he competed in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, earning 5th place in High Jump and 8th place in Long Jump. He won his first world championship in 2023 in High Jump, breaking the world record. After a disappointing silver in High Jump at the 2024 World Championships, he won two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in the 100M and High Jump (he got 5th in Long Jump). He became the first above knee amputee in history to be recruited to and compete for a D1 track program in 2024-2025. After his freshman season at USC, he signed with Adidas and turned pro.

Frech is also a documentary filmmaker, working to highlight rich, beautiful, and impactful stories from the Paralympic movement. He is the creator and producer of the acclaimed new docuseries, ADAPTIVE, on NBC Peacock that follows four Paralympians on the road to Paris. He and his team are currently preparing Season 2: Los Angeles following a new slate of athletes to the LA28 Paralympic Games. He is also an Executive Producer on the documentary film, Row of Life.

Previously Mr. Frech served as Regional Vice-President for Safelite AutoGlass, managing the $100M California Region with over 600 employees and 35 facilities. He has also held the position of Vice President of Operations and Sustainability, Classic Party Rentals, where he oversaw the acquisition of twenty three companies in two years, accounting for over $200M in revenue. He was the Managing Director, NextLeft Digital Strategy Consulting, a $20M per year consulting firm. In the late 1990鈥檚 he worked on e-business strategy projects for Fortune 500 entertainment and media companies as an Organizational Strategy Consultant, PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Prior to graduate school, Frech interned in The White House House Office of Policy Development and spent two years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where he helped direct the global phase-out of ozone depleting substances, saving the planet from the catastrophic impact of UV-B radiation. At U.C. Santa Barbara he performed economic research and published on a wide range of environmental topics including ozone layer protection, global warming, carbon taxes, energy efficiency, and bio-diversity.

Frech has served on non-profit and for-profit boards and advisory boards, including UCLA Anderson Alumni, Literacy Network of Los Angeles, Northeast Trees, Amigos de Los Rios, Challenged athletes, Adaptive Sports USA, Move United, Angel City Alliance, Shannan Fabrics, C-Hear, and LA City Department on Disability Games Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Frech has a B.A. in Economics from U.C. Santa Barbara and an MBA in Strategy from UCLA Anderson. Mr. Frech enjoys family, surfing, history, and pickleball and resides in Los Angeles with his wife, three boys, and Great Dane mix Harlow.
