Vida Mofidi is a senior public health microbiologist and educator with over 28 years of experience in clinical microbiology, infectious disease diagnostics, public health laboratory practice, and university-level instruction. She currently serves as a听Senior Public Health Microbiologist听serving the Orange County community, and as听Part-Time Faculty听at CSU Dominguez Hills, where she teaches and develops curriculum for the Medical Parasitology Laboratory course.
Her areas of expertise and academic interest include parasitology, diagnostic microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, infectious disease epidemiology, biosafety, and applied public health laboratory methods. Vida holds a听Master of Public Health (MPH), a听Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, and professional credentials including听PHM and M(ASCP)CM. She has extensive experience training laboratory professionals, leading microbial identification initiatives, and integrating emerging technologies into public health laboratory workflows.
Vida鈥檚 scholarly contributions include publications in听FEMS Microbiology Ecology听(co-author, 2016; doi:10.1093/femsec/fiw047) and the听Journal of Applied Microbiology听(author, 2008; ISSN 1364-5072).
