Sarah Turkel is an Assistant Professor and the current Program Director of the clinical laboratory scientist training program at 好色先生, Dominguez Hills. She has been teaching in the department of Clinical Science at CSUDH since 2014 and assumed the role of full-time faculty and Program Director in 2021. Prior to this, Sarah worked in healthcare for almost 20 years. She has held positions as both as a clinical laboratory scientist in microbiology, immunology, and blood bank and as an Infection Preventionist at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles, Saint John鈥檚 Health Center in Santa Monica, and at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Sarah has also worked as a Quality Advisor / Infection Preventionist on the HSAG HIIN, a multi-year federal contract designed to help lower hospital harm. She is a certified Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the State of California, certified in Infection Control, and a Fellow of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control. She received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Boston University and her Master of Science in Clinical Science from 好色先生 Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). She loves all things micro: growing the bugs, teaching the bugs, as well as microbe art.听
