The College of Business Administration and Public Policy awarded approximately $45,071 to CBAPP students for the 2025-2026 academic year. CBAPP scholarship applications are usually made available in the spring semester for award distribution in the next academic year. These scholarships are only available to students with declared majors in the College of Business Administration and Public Policy who meet the eligibility criteria.

Application Instructions
Complete the instructions below to apply for the CBAPP Scholarships on MyCSUDH. Students should prepare a personal statement prior to starting the application, then copy and paste the statement into the online application. Students should also听download their unofficial transcripts for free in MyCSUDH > Student Center > Academic Requirements and then upload them to the application.听
Personal Statement:
Please provide a brief personal statement. The statement cannot exceed 1200 words. Your statement should include the following:
- Achievements (including any involvement in special projects, research or papers that are part of your academic studies)
- Family Background
- Academic Potential
- Your career and educational plans for the future
- How this scholarship will help both monetarily and personally
- Challenges that you have encountered
- Any other information relevant to this application

Scholarships
The College is grateful to the generous donors who make these scholarships possible. If you are interested in becoming a donor or would like to sponsor a scholarship through the College, please contact the CBAPP Director of Development, Susan Addleman, or the University Development office.
The CBAPP scholarships that are usually available each year are noted below. Students must maintain all eligibility criteria during the award year in order to be awarded scholarship funds.

CBAPP General Scholarship | $2,000 | 鈥e a current CSUDH CBAPP student |
Carson Companies Scholarship | Full in-state tuition and mandatory fees, annual renewal of award until graduation | 鈥ursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration 鈥�3.5 GPA or above 鈥emonstrate financial need via personal statement |
Chiou-Hsiung "Bear" Chang Scholarship | $5,000 | 鈥e a CBAPP student in good academic standing 鈥ave a declared major within CSUDH鈥檚 CBAPP 鈥ndicated their intention to graduate from CBAPP 鈥pplicants must submit a short personal statement |
Donald Jones Endowed Memorial Scholarship | $2,000 | 鈥e a Criminal Justice Administration major at CSUDH 鈥e a U.S. citizen 鈥as already demonstrated a strong ability to succeed in a university environment 鈥urrently holding at least a "C" average overall, and at least a "C+" average in Criminal Justice Administration coursework 鈥ubmit CSUDH transcript 鈥apable of demonstrating their need for financial assistance, due to low income or large family size 鈥e willing to use the award to offset the cost of books, tuition, and lodging associated with the pursuit of their degree 鈥urn in a complete scholarship application and comply with all dates and deadlines associated with the dispensation of this award 鈥as expressed a strong desire to pursue a professional career in the field of law enforcement |
Gil & Shirley Smith Scholarship | $1,000 | 鈥emonstrate a need for financial assistance 鈥e a continuing undergraduate CSUDH CBAPP student with at least one semester of coursework remaining 鈥ossess a minimum 3.0 GPA, either major or overall |
Jerry Groomes Endowed Scholarship | $1,000 | 鈥e a CSUDH graduate or undergraduate student majoring in Public Administration 鈥e enrolled in classes at CSUDH during the semester for which he/she applies for the scholarship 鈥ossess a minimum 3.0 GPA 鈥e in good academic standing with the university during tenure of the scholarship |
Leonard Moite Memorial Scholarship | $1,000 | 鈥e an undergraduate junior or senior CSUDH CBAPP student with a declared concentration in Finance 鈥e enrolled in at last two Finance or two Economics classes during the semester for which student applies for the scholarship 鈥unior or Senior class standing 鈥�3.0 minimum GPA 鈥ommitted to continuing their education and attaining a Master's Degree, doctorate or Professional Degree via personal statement 鈥e in good academic standing with the university 鈥ubmit a copy of their CSUDH transcripts 鈥pload a letter of recommendation from a Finance faculty member |

Vicki I Sarmiento Memorial Endowed Scholarship | $2,000 | 鈥tudent who demonstrates a commitment to reforming the criminal justice system and demonstrates an interest in improving the conditions of the justice impacted via personal statement |
