Dr. Xuefei (Nancy) Deng is Professor of Information Systems in the College of Business Administration and Public Policy at 好色先生, Dominguez Hills. She received her Ph.D. degree in Information Systems (IS) from Carnegie Mellon University and MBA degree from American University in Washington, DC. Her research interests include AI and Digital Discrimination, AI and Education, Algorithmic Management, Crowdsourcing, Digital Labor Platforms, STEM Career, and Social Inclusion. Nancy has been a Co-Investigator on a $5.3M grant (2022-2024) for the Connecting Minority Communities pilot program of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).听 Nancy鈥檚 research work has been published in premier journals such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Information Technology & People, and Decision Support Systems, among others. She has served in the associate editor (AE) role for several IS journals, including Information Systems Journal. Currently, Nancy serves as the co-Editor-in-Chief of The Data Base for Advances in Information Systems.听 Nancy is passionate about promoting and growing research on equitable and inclusive digital technologies in society and institutions in the AI era. Her recent AI-related publications and ongoing projects address overcoming digital barriers, using AI to enhance student learning, promoting ethical AI use, understanding human鈥揂I complementarity at work, supporting AI-informed career development for first-generation students, and examining AI-related knowledge, skills, and attitudes among employees. Her efforts and leadership include co-chairing a new invited track, 鈥淚T, Social Justice, and Marginalized Contexts,鈥 at the Hawai驶i International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) for three consecutive years (2024-2026) and helping build a community of a total of 600+ scholars (submitting authors, reviewers, and/or mini-track chairs). Recently, Nancy received the official appointment as a Founding Co-Track Chair of the Equitable and Inclusive Digital Systems in Society and Institutions Track at HICSS-60 and beyond.
